WHO WE ARE
Umbrella for Relief and Rehabilitation Organization (URRO)
We are Dedicated Community-driven Somali NGO based in Qansahdhere District.
We were formed through the unification of two respected local NGOs – GRRO (Gallayr Relief and Rehabilitation Organization) and SERRA (Somali Education Relief and Rehabilitation Agency) – to strengthen our efforts in tackling hunger, disease, poverty, and the devastating effects of conflict and natural disasters.
Our team is made up of Somali intellectuals and community leaders who understand the realities on the ground and work hand-in-hand with traditional leaders, local authorities, and humanitarian agencies to address urgent needs.
WHAT WE DO
URRO is on the frontlines in Somalia, delivering hope where it’s needed most. We fight hunger, rebuild lives, and empower communities with dignity and purpose
Nutrition & Health
We deliver life-saving food aid and emergency relief to vulnerable families in crisis-affected regions.
Water & Sanitation (WASH)
We promote clean water access, proper sanitation, and hygiene education to reduce the spread of disease in rural and hard-to-reach communities.
Education & Capacity Building
We rebuild schools, train teachers and health workers, and empower local leaders to strengthen community resilience.
Environmental Protection
We lead tree-planting drives, combat deforestation, and raise awareness about climate change and sustainable natural resource use.
Livelihoods & Job Creation
We create job opportunities, train farmers and youth, and boost income through agriculture, livestock, and small enterprise support.
Peacebuilding & Community Cohesion
We work with elders, youth, and traditional leaders to resolve conflicts, foster reconciliation, and build peaceful communities.

About Us
Umbrella for Relief and Rehabilitation Organization (URRO) is a Somali-led NGO based in Qansahdhere District, working across Bay and Bakool regions. We deliver life-saving relief and long-term development programs focused on nutrition, food security, livelihoods, education, health, WASH, environmental protection, and peacebuilding. Our mission is to restore dignity and build resilience in vulnerable communities through partnerships with donors, UN agencies, and local leaders.
